Description
Fruit Sparklers are colorful, refreshing fruit skewers made with juicy watermelon stars and fresh blueberries. They’re a fun, no-bake snack that’s perfect for summer parties, picnics, and patriotic celebrations.
Ingredients
1 whole watermelon
16 ounces fresh blueberries
Bamboo skewers
Instructions
- Cut the watermelon vertically into slices approximately 1 inch thick.
- Use a small star-shaped cookie cutter to cut star shapes from the watermelon flesh.
- Thread 7–10 blueberries onto the center of each bamboo skewer, leaving space at the bottom for holding and room at the top for the watermelon star.
- Gently place one watermelon star onto the top of each skewer.
- Arrange the completed fruit sparklers on a serving tray.
- Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve chilled.
Notes
For a mixed-berry version, alternate blueberries with raspberries, blackberries, or sliced strawberries.
Use pineapple stars, grapes, or mango for a tropical variation.
Add banana slices or dragon fruit for a red, white, and blue presentation, assembling close to serving time.
Shorter skewers or cocktail picks work well for children or appetizer trays.
Store covered in the refrigerator and enjoy within 24 hours for the best texture.
Do not freeze assembled fruit sparklers, as the watermelon will become soft after thawing.
