Description
Tender, golden chicken breasts are smothered in a rich, creamy Parmesan sauce made with cream cheese, heavy cream, and herbs. This easy one-skillet dinner delivers restaurant-quality comfort in just 30 minutes.
Ingredients
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon dried thyme
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Cook the chicken for 6 to 7 minutes per side until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the softened cream cheese and heavy cream. Stir until smooth and creamy.
- Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and dried thyme. Cook for about 3 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens.
- Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the sauce over each piece.
- Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes so the chicken absorbs the flavors.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
Add sliced mushrooms or fresh spinach for extra flavor and texture.
Swap dried thyme for Italian seasoning, fresh basil, or rosemary if desired.
Sprinkle extra Parmesan on top and broil for 1 to 2 minutes for a golden finish.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheat gently with a splash of cream or milk if the sauce becomes too thick.
Freezing is not recommended because the cream sauce may separate.
