Description

A hearty Italian meatloaf made with a blend of ground beef and sausage, topped with rich marinara and melted mozzarella for a comforting, family-style meal.


Ingredients

1 pound lean ground beef

1 pound Italian sausage

1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 large eggs

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 teaspoons Italian seasoning

1 cup marinara sauce

Shredded mozzarella cheese (optional)

Salt to taste

Black pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a loaf pan or line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, Italian sausage, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, eggs, garlic, onion, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in the prepared pan or tray.
  4. Spread marinara sauce evenly over the top and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese if using.
  5. Bake for about 60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  6. Remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
