Ingredients
40 salted saltine crackers
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup brown sugar
2 cups white chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
- Place saltine crackers in a single layer on the lined baking sheet.
- Mix granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl. Set aside.
- In a small saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat. Bring to a boil and let it boil for about 3 minutes until it reaches a deep caramel color.
- Pour the caramel mixture over the saltine crackers, spreading it evenly.
- Bake the caramel-covered crackers for 5 to 6 minutes, or until the caramel is bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle white chocolate chips evenly over the top. Let them sit for about 5 minutes to melt, then spread into an even layer.
- While the white chocolate is still wet, sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the top.
- Allow the toffee to cool completely. Refrigerate for about 10 minutes to help set the white chocolate. Break the toffee into pieces to serve.
Notes
For a richer flavor, you can use dark chocolate or milk chocolate instead of white chocolate.
Ensure the caramel reaches a deep color before pouring over the crackers to achieve the perfect texture.
Store the toffee in an airtight container to keep it fresh and crunchy.
