Description

This bold and aromatic seafood seasoning blend enhances the natural flavors of fish, shrimp, scallops, and more with a perfect balance of savory, smoky, and citrusy notes. It’s quick to make, easy to customize, and a pantry staple for grilling, roasting, or pan-searing seafood.


Ingredients

1 tablespoon smoked paprika

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon onion powder

1 tablespoon dried thyme

1 tablespoon dried oregano

1 tablespoon celery seed

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon white pepper (optional)

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

1 teaspoon mustard powder

1 teaspoon kosher salt

1/2 teaspoon ground coriander

1/2 teaspoon lemon zest (dried or fresh when using)


Instructions

  1. Combine all the spices and lemon zest in a small bowl and stir until thoroughly mixed.
  2. Transfer the blend into an airtight jar or spice container.
  3. Store in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months.
  4. Use 1 to 2 teaspoons per pound of seafood before grilling, roasting, or sautéing.

Notes

Add a pinch of brown sugar for caramelization when cooking salmon.

Increase lemon or lime zest for a zestier profile.
