Description
These Smoked Party Ribs are tender, smoky, and coated in a rich, sticky barbecue glaze. Perfect for cookouts, game days, and gatherings, they deliver bold BBQ flavor in easy-to-share portions.
Ingredients
2 racks St. Louis-style spare ribs
2 tablespoons yellow mustard
3 tablespoons BBQ dry rub
1 cup BBQ sauce
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 tablespoon honey
Wood chunks or pellets, apple or cherry preferred
Instructions
- Preheat the smoker to 250°F (121°C).
- Pat the ribs dry, remove the membrane, and cut the racks into individual ribs.
- Lightly coat the ribs with yellow mustard and season all sides with BBQ dry rub.
- Arrange the ribs on the smoker and cook for 2 hours.
- Transfer the ribs to a foil pan or foil packet and add the BBQ sauce, butter, and honey.
- Cover tightly and return to the smoker for 1 hour until the ribs are tender.
- Uncover the ribs, gently toss them in the sauce, and continue smoking for 10 to 15 minutes to set the glaze.
- Let the ribs rest for 5 minutes before serving warm with extra BBQ sauce if desired.
Notes
Use a spicy BBQ rub or add hot sauce to the glaze for extra heat.
Maple syrup can be substituted for honey.
Hickory wood can be used for a stronger smoky flavor.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
Freeze for up to 3 months in a freezer-safe container.
Reheat in a covered baking dish with extra BBQ sauce at 300°F until warmed through.
