Description

Twisted Pizza Sticks are a quick, cheesy, and satisfying snack made with puff pastry, pizza sauce, and gooey cheese. Perfect for parties, after-school snacks, or movie nights, these sticks are baked to golden perfection and ready in just 25 minutes.


Ingredients

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

3 tablespoons tomato paste or pizza sauce

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon dried basil

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Optional: chopped black olives, pepperoni slices, or fresh herbs for topping


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheet.
  3. Spread tomato paste evenly over the surface.
  4. Sprinkle oregano, basil, and garlic powder over the sauce.
  5. Evenly distribute mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
  6. Fold the pastry in half lengthwise and gently press to seal the edges.
  7. Slice the pastry into 1-inch strips using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
  8. Twist each strip a few times and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Brush the tops with beaten egg.
  10. Bake for 12–15 minutes until puffed, crisp, and golden brown.
  11. Let cool slightly and serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Add mini pepperoni slices or chopped veggies before folding for variation.

Use pesto instead of tomato sauce for a herby twist.

Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Reheat in oven at 350°F (175°C) for 5–7 minutes for best texture.

To freeze, place unbaked sticks on a tray until firm, then transfer to a bag. Bake from frozen, adding 3–5 extra minutes.
