Description

This peach iced tea is sweet, fruity, and refreshing with smooth homemade peach syrup blended into freshly brewed tea. Served over ice with frozen peaches, it is the perfect chilled drink for warm days.

Ingredients

5 cups water, divided

1 family size tea bag

3/4 cup sugar

3/4 cup honey

2 cups peaches, thawed and pureed if frozen, or peeled and sliced if fresh

2 cups frozen peaches

Ice, for serving

Instructions

  1. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Remove from the heat and steep the tea bag for 5 minutes.
  2. Pour the brewed tea into a 2-quart pitcher and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, combine the sugar, honey, and remaining 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  4. Add the pureed peaches and return the mixture to a low boil. Remove from the heat and let cool slightly.
  5. Strain the syrup through a mesh sieve, pressing the peaches to extract as much juice as possible. Discard the pulp.
  6. Add the peach syrup to the brewed tea gradually, stirring and tasting until the desired sweetness is reached.
  7. Divide the frozen peaches between 4 glasses. Add ice and pour the peach iced tea over the top before serving.

Notes

Use black tea for a classic flavor, green tea for a lighter taste, or herbal tea for a caffeine-free option.

Add lemon slices, mint leaves, or fresh peach slices for extra freshness.

Store leftover tea covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and stir before serving.

Keep extra peach syrup in a sealed jar in the refrigerator.

Fresh or canned peaches may be used if frozen peaches are unavailable.
